Belgium has not changed its decision regarding the restrictions , with which it provides weapons to Ukraine, local media reported, referring to a statement by the Ministry of Defense, BTA reports.
Belgium continues to demand that the munitions provided are not used to strike targets in Russia. Earlier this week, Belgian Prime Minister Alexandre de Croix and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a bilateral security agreement in Brussels, which provides for at least 977 million euros in military aid to Kiev by the end of the year and ongoing support for the next 10 years. Belgium will supply Ukraine with 30 F-16 fighter jets by 2028, air defense equipment, artillery ammunition and military machinery.
The media noted that today's statement by the Ministry of Defense comes against the background of the decisions of several countries to allow Ukraine to use the weapons provided by them on targets in Russia. This month, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg repeatedly called on the countries of the pact to reconsider the restrictions on the use of the weapons with which they supply the Ukrainian side.
