Ukrainian authorities are disappointed with the talks with US President Joe Biden on the sidelines of the summit of NATO in Washington due to the refusal to remove restrictions on the use of American weapons for strikes on Russian territory, the newspaper "Politico" reported, citing its sources.
According to them, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky raised this topic in a bilateral meeting with Biden, to which he replied that Kiev and Washington should continue negotiations on this issue. This position does not close the way to a possible lifting of the restrictions, but it is still very far from the agreement expected by Ukraine.
Ukrainian Head of State and Chief of Staff of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak were “extremely disappointed” This is the result of the meeting with Biden, sources noted.
Speaking on July 11 at a press conference after the NATO summit in Washington, Biden said that giving Kiev permission to use American weapons to strike Moscow or a similar distance deep into Russian territory makes no sense.
