The Committee of the permanent representatives of the countries of the European Union approved the first regular payment to Kiev in the amount of 4.2 billion euros from the European Fund for Ukraine (Ukraine Facility), announced the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the EU, quoted by "Reuters".
"Today, the permanent representatives approved the first payment through the Fund for Ukraine, which makes it possible to provide around 4.2 billion euros to support the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine," the presidency said in a message on the X social network.

The EU Council will now approve the corresponding decision in writing.
On July 17, the European Commission gave a positive assessment of the possibility of disbursement of this tranche due to the fact that Kyiv has satisfactorily fulfilled nine reform indicators.
Kyiv will receive up to 50 billion euros in the form of grants and loans for the period 2024-2027 under the Fund for Ukraine.
On February 28, the EU Council approved a package of legislation related to the review of the EU's long-term budget for 2021-2027, including provisions for the creation of a fund for Ukraine worth EUR 50 billion (EUR 17 billion in grants and EUR 33 billion euro loans).
