Washington's stated goal of inflicting a strategic defeat of Russia is unrealistic. This was stated by the Russian ambassador to the USA, Anatoly Antonov, quoted by TASS.
According to him, the USA is constantly getting stuck deeper and deeper in the quagmire of the Ukrainian conflict. The diplomat noted that the government in Washington is ready to sacrifice the well-being of American citizens by transferring billions of dollars worth of weapons and ammunition to the Kiev regime.
The only demand of the curators from Washington is to intensify the military clashes with the Russian troops. We continue to be tested to the limit of our tolerance or patience for acts of hostility. The common goal is the infamous strategic defeat of our country, Antonov pointed out.
In his words, the US administration persistently ignores Russia's interests. Now there is more and more talk about the possibility of shelling Russian territory with long-range weapons. Only a few politicians mention the possibility of World War III, which local authorities are paving the way for, the ambassador added.
No schemes or so-called "peace initiatives" for a ceasefire in Eastern Europe without taking into account Russia's national interests. We do not negotiate with terrorists, Antonov also said.
