There is no talk of mobilization now yes, but the Russians are actively signing contracts with the Ministry of Defense and entering military service, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, told RIA Novosti.
„Hundreds sign contracts every day and go to the front,” he said.
According to Peskov, contract servicemen first go through training and prepare carefully.
That is why there is no need to talk about mobilization now, the press secretary stressed.
Partial mobilization took place in Russia in autumn 2022. Then more than 300 thousand people were drafted into the army. After that, the Russian authorities repeatedly stated that there was no need for a new wave of mobilization.
In early July, Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, said that in the first half of the year, about 190,000 people had signed contracts with the Defense Ministry, and the average daily recruitment rate remained stable at about a thousand people per day.
