At least 44 people were killed in two bus crashes in southeastern Afghanistan overnight, Reuters reported, citing local authorities, BTA reported.
76 people were injured. Some of the injured are in critical condition. In one crash, the collision involved a fuel tanker, and the second involved a truck.
Road accidents are common in Afghanistan due to poor infrastructure, which suffered even more during the decades-long war in the country, which ended in 2021 when foreign troops withdrew and the Taliban took power.
