Slovakia will consider reciprocal measures against Ukraine, such as stopping electricity supplies to Kiev after January 1, if Ukrainian authorities stop, as expected, the transit of Russian gas to Slovakia, Reuters reported, citing a statement by Prime Minister Robert Fico.
"After January 1, we will assess the situation and the possibilities for reciprocal measures against Ukraine," Fico said in a video posted on "Facebook".
"If this is unavoidable, we will stop the supply of electricity that Ukraine needs during the grid outages. Or we will agree on another course of action".
Ukraine said that from January 1 it will stop allowing the transit of Russian gas through its territory.
