The fire broke out on the 11th floor of the "Renoir 2" tower, which is one of the tallest buildings in the Argentine capital and is located in the Puerto Madero area. Thirty ambulances have arrived at the scene, the Argentine newspaper reported.
"We have evacuated 100 people and are providing oxygen to eight people," Alberto Crescenti, head of the emergency services, said from the scene.
Firefighters are inspecting the upper floors and it is not yet known whether there are people above the level of the fire.
So far, about 50 people have received medical attention at the scene for smoke inhalation, and only one person had to be hospitalized, he said, also quoted by an AFP reporter who was at the scene.
