Chinese President Xi Jinping plans to meet with the heads of major Western companies who will come to Beijing for the China Development Forum. As reported by the British Financial Times (FT), citing informed sources, the meeting is scheduled for March 28.
The publication notes that the final list of participants in the meeting has not yet been determined, since some of them will not be able to stay in Beijing after the end of the forum, which will be held on March 23-24.
The forum in Beijing is expected to be attended, among other guests, by the heads of Saudi Aramco, HSBC, Pfizer, Mizuho, Moller-Maersk, Qualcomm, Standard Chartered, TotalEnergies and other companies that occupy leading positions in their industries. In total, more than 70 executives from major international companies and banks are expected to attend.
After last year's forum, Xi Jinping received the heads of 20 American companies in Beijing. As the FT notes, this year the list of those invited to the meeting with the Chinese president will be longer.
