Critics of US President Donald Trump's approach to resolving the conflict in Ukraine want nothing more than for the fighting to continue indefinitely, and the American leader has no intention of listening to the opinions of such circles.
This was stated by Trump's national security adviser Mike Walz.
"If anyone has better ideas, let them say them. But so far all I've heard is a call for war for an indefinite period. And no one should be surprised that President Trump has not campaigned on this and has no intention of doing so," the White House official said, commenting on the situation in Ukraine on Fox News.
"This did not happen in his first term. And he intends to end it in his second term," Walz said of the Ukraine crisis. According to him, Trump has assembled a "great team" of key ministers and aides, all of whom work in unison when it comes to resolving Ukraine.
The United States is reframing its approach to interacting with Russia and providing assistance to Kiev to get a return on that assistance, Walz said.
"We are reforming the way the United States provides assistance and partners with Ukraine on the economy and rare earths. "We are reforming this so that the American people get a return on the enormous investment we have made," Walz said, emphasizing that the United States is counting on a ceasefire. "We are also reforming the way we interact with Russia," he continued.
