Ukraine joining the European Union is unthinkable, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said today in an interview with public radio “Lajos Kossuth“, reported the Hungarian news agency MTI, quoted by BTA.
Speaking ahead of the EU summit in Brussels next week, Orban said that from the point of view of Hungarian interests he cannot “give even a single argument“ in favor of Ukraine joining the union. “At the same time, I can provide many arguments against its accession, which would ruin“ Hungary's agriculture and its economy as a whole, he added.
Orbán also said that it was not clear "how we will deal with the crime" that "will flow into Hungary" as a result of Ukraine's accession to the EU.
