"You cannot annex another country". This was stated by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen to the US during her visit to Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, an island that is part of Denmark but has broad autonomy, world agencies reported, quoted by BTA.
Frederiksen confirmed the territorial integrity of the vast Arctic territory, which US President Donald Trump has appetites for.
„You cannot annex another country“, the Danish Prime Minister emphasized, speaking in English. She said Denmark would not back down on the Greenland issue.
Frederiksen added, however, that her country supported the idea of improving defense cooperation with the United States in the Arctic, Reuters added.
