Russian President Vladimir Putin met with a senior North Korean official in Moscow on Thursday, the North Korean news agency KCNA reported, quoted by Reuters, as quoted by BTA.
Putin met in the Kremlin with Yi Hee-yong, a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and secretary of the Central Committee.
Putin thanked North Korea for its active support for his country, demonstrating the growing cooperation between the two countries.
According to Ukrainian, American and South Korean estimates, North Korea has deployed thousands of troops to support Russian forces fighting in Ukraine.
