Russian Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov asked "whether Washington wants to end regular Ukrainian attacks on civilians in Russia".
„Do you want to end regular Ukrainian attacks on civilians in Russia?", Ulyanov wrote on the social network X, commenting on US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's post, in which he expressed condolences on behalf of the US to the victims of the missile strike on Sumy.
Rubio said in his post that what happened was "a tragic reminder" why US President Donald Trump and his administration are spending so much time and effort trying to end the military conflict and achieve lasting peace.
On the morning of April 13, Russia launched two strikes on the city of Sumy. Former Rada deputy Igor Mosiychuk said that at that time a ceremonial award ceremony for soldiers of the 117th brigade of the Ukrainian Territorial Defense was taking place in the city. Rada deputy Maryana Bezugla said that the strikes were carried out during the award ceremony.
According to the latest information, 34 people were killed and 117 were injured.
