Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune during his official visit to the African country, TRT Haber reported, BTA reports.
Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Ataf, with whom Fidan held a bilateral meeting earlier in the day, also attended the conversation, which took place yesterday in the capital Algiers.
After the talks, the Turkish foreign minister expressed satisfaction with the visit and stressed that “Turkey will always be a trusted friend of Algeria“.
Fidan noted that the two countries are aiming to increase bilateral trade to $10 billion. He stressed that over 1,000 Turkish companies are already operating in the Algerian market.
In addition, Fidan expressed gratitude for Algeria's support for the Palestinian issue and stated that “Turkey will continue to support the efforts of its Palestinian brothers with all its might“.
