62% of Americans believe that the US is going in the wrong direction under Trump - 1

The performance of Donald Trump as US president in the first 100 days after his inauguration is in line with the expectations of 7 in 10 Americans. This is shown by the results of a public opinion survey conducted by the NORC research center for the Associated Press.

Only 3 in 10 respondents say that their expectations do not coincide with Trump's actions. As the agency notes, this does not mean that the majority of Americans are satisfied with the president's policies. 44% of survey participants believe that Trump has incorrectly defined his priority areas of activity, and 24% agree with his choice. 62% believe the U.S. is headed in the wrong direction under Trump.

Four in 10 respondents approve of Trump's performance as president. About a third of those polled said they have a favorable opinion of Vice President J.D. Vance. Four in 10 respondents have a favorable opinion of Health Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr.

The poll was conducted April 17-21 and included more than 1,200 Americans. The margin of error was 3.9 percentage points.
