Russian President Vladimir Putin said that on April 26, the Russian Armed Forces, during military operations, completed the defeat of a group of Ukrainian militants who invaded the Kursk Region, TASS reports.
"This puts an end to the criminal provocation by the Ukrainian authorities who tried to seize part of the territory of the Russian Federation“, Putin noted.
The operation to liberate the Kursk Region ended on April 26. The Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, noted in his report to the president the role of the DPRK servicemen in the defeat of the Ukrainian group in the region. A monument to Korean heroes will be erected in their homeland, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said.
A Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty is in force between Russia and the DPRK. Its fourth article states that in the event of an armed attack on one of the parties to the agreement, the second will immediately provide military and other assistance with all the means at its disposal.
