Fraudster stole 22 tons of Cheddar cheese from a British trader

The value of the stolen goods is more than 300 thousand pounds

British media reported that from a London-based trader the stolen, fraudulently, traditionally English cheese "cheddar" worth more than 300,000 pounds, BNR reported.

Delicate cheese trading company Neal’s Yard Dairy said it had shipped about 22 tonnes of the hard "cheddar" in the form of cloth-wrapped pies of an alleged fraudster posing as a wholesale distributor for a large fresco retailer before realizing it was a fake company.

The company says they have been able to pay the dairies that make the cheese, so they are not harmed, but are now taking steps to ensure their financial stability following the blow.

She is working hard with the police to identify the perpetrators of the fraud.

The stolen cheeses are of three of the most famous types - Hafod Welsh, Westcombe and Pitchfork, 250-300 grams of which are sold on the market for between 7 and 12 pounds (or between 16 and 27 BGN).

Cheese dealers worldwide have been urged to call if they suspect they have sold stolen "cheddar".
