The CEO of the largest Swiss bank UBS, Sergio Ermotti, does not believe in a quick resolution of the situation surrounding the import tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump. He assesses the possibility of signing bilateral agreements with Washington to ease tariffs by 20% - 30%, the Swiss financial agency AWP reported.
"I never imagined it would get so out of control", the agency quoted him as saying. Just a week after the announcement of the new US tariffs, there is "huge uncertainty that will continue" in the world, Ermotti said.
Earlier, US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant statedthat representatives of nearly 70 countries had proposed to Washington to start negotiations to ease tariffs. The minister did not rule out that these discussions could continue until June.
