German technology company Siemens plans to cut around 6,000 jobs worldwide, including 2,850 in Germany, according to a press release published on the company's website.

The cuts will affect the automation sector and the electric vehicle charging station business. Siemens became the second major German company in the past 24 hours to announce plans for mass layoffs. On Monday evening, Audi Group announced its intention to cut a total of 7,500 jobs in Germany by the end of 2029 as part of a cost-cutting program.
