Moscow has climbed to second place in the world in terms of the number of billionaires living in the city, Forbes magazine reports. The ranking is published on the publication's official website.
According to the publication, 90 billionaires currently live in the capital. Their number has increased by 16 people over the year. Their total fortune is estimated at 409 billion dollars. The leader among Russian businessmen remains the founder of Lukoil Vagit Alekperov, whose fortune has grown to 28.7 billion dollars over the year.
In first place is New York, the publication specifies. In total, the city has 123 billionaires, their number has increased by 13 people over the year. Former New York City mayor, businessman and philanthropist Michael Bloomberg is the city's richest resident with a net worth of $105 billion.
The top three is completed by Hong Kong, where 72 billionaires live. Their number in the city has decreased by two people in a year. It is noted that Hong Kong in 2024 occupies second place, which it shares with Moscow.
London is in fourth place, Beijing - in fifth, Mumbai - in sixth, and Singapore - in seventh. Shanghai and San Francisco share eighth place, and Los Angeles is in tenth place.
