The cost of the cheapest version of the iPhone 16, whose starting price was 799 USD, may increase to 1142 USD, and the price of the iPhone 16 Pro Max model will increase from 1599 USD to 2300 USD. As analysts explain, such a price jump would occur if Apple, most of whose production is located in China, decides to shift the additional costs onto the shoulders of buyers.
Trump, during his first term as president, imposed tariffs on a wide range of Chinese imports to force American companies to return production either to the United States or to nearby countries. However, Apple then managed to secure some relief for itself. This time, no exemptions have been reported yet.
