The group of GERB-SDS in the Capital Municipal Council (SOC) submits a report on changing the reconstruction of ul. "Oplchenska", announced today municipal councilors from the group who were at the intersection of st. "Military" and st. "Pirotska", broadcast by BTA.
Anton Hekimyan from GERB-SDS reminded that it is a matter of repair, for which people have been protesting for several months and have their absolutely reasoned demands. If at the beginning they were to preserve the vegetation that was illegally removed, today people continue to protest for their safety, said the municipal councilor. They want, when they leave their housing cooperatives, not to step directly on the roadway, they want wider sidewalks and narrower traffic lanes, said Hekimyan.
That is why a report will be submitted to the office of the Metropolitan Municipality today, with which we want the mayor to do everything necessary so that the sidewalks and roadways are changed, said Hekimyan. According to him, this is a civil report with the demands of the people. He calls on the other political groups in the SOS to support the report so that there can be safety for the people who live in this place.
Municipal councilor Dragomir Mladenov said that the report they are submitting is a hand out to the residents of the area, as well as to all the municipal councilors who, for one reason or another, have so far supported the project in its current form. This is also a helping hand to Mayor Terziev, who can correct one of his big mistakes by agreeing to assist in the redesign of the repair, Mladenov said.
According to the municipal councilor, the 3.5 gauge of the road lanes, which was included in the initial project, is only required for heavy traffic. What we are proposing is that two of the lanes that will be for light goods traffic become 3 meters, and the bus lane becomes 3.25 meters. In this way, space will be gained, and the citizens' priority is the eastern sidewalk, which connects to the "Oplchenska" metro station, where there is an elevator. A place can be won and I am sure that we will prove it at the next session, said Dragomir Mladenov.
BTA reminds that the third stage of the reconstruction of ul. "Military" from Blvd. "Alexander Stamboliyski" to Blvd. "Slivnitsa". Therefore, from today, November 18, until December 31, the entry of vehicles is prohibited in some sections.
