Diana Damyanova: Borisov is fighting for a monument, not to govern anymore - 1

It is mathematically impossible to form a government within the current parliament. The leader of GERB - Boyko Borisov does not sign the declaration for a "sanitary cordon" around "DPS - New Beginning", since there are no guarantees that even after "We Continue the Change" negotiations will begin.

This is what PR expert Diana Damyanova thinks. On the air of the show „Your Day" on NOVA NEWS she expressed the opinion that the country is heading for an eighth consecutive vote.

"The chance of us going to elections is much higher than that of the parties putting together a government", Damyanova was categorical.

According to the expert, GERB leader Boyko Borisov is not signing the declaration for a "sanitary cordon" around "DPS - New Beginning", as there are no guarantees that even after that "We Continue the Change" will begin negotiations.

In the same program, journalist Asen Genov emphasized the lack of a management concept. "With their behavior, politicians impose on voters the feeling that they want a larger share of the state pie", he commented.

Lack of consistency

Diana Damyanova emphasized the problem of inconsistency in Bulgarian politics. "There is something that politics punishes – the lack of consistency and sequence. When you do something, your next actions should be predictable from that movement," the expert pointed out.

She also noted the threefold drop in support for "We Continue the Change": "When your drop is threefold and you continue to kick the same hoe that you kicked before, you have no other chance".

Borisov and the government

Regarding Boyko Borisov's ambitions to return as Prime Minister, Damyanova made an interesting analysis: "Borisov is fighting for a monument, not to govern anymore. He wants to be one of the figures in Bulgarian history to whom people will go and offer flowers on a certain date".

Asen Genov added that in his opinion Borisov is trying to trade his role in the political process, aiming to surpass Todor Zhivkov's record as the longest-serving prime minister.
