„We will respond to the invitation of our colleagues from GERB and will join the negotiations to form a regular government, supported by a broad parliamentary majority. We will go to the negotiations on Monday very seriously and responsibly, with care for the country“, explained Nadezhda Yordanova, MP from „Democratic Bulgaria“ to bTV.
Specifying that DB is going to the negotiations „not independently, but as part of the PP-DB PG“.
„Our goals are the same, both for DB and PP – Bulgaria should have a pro-European anti-corruption government and the differences are only in the approach“, Yordanova also said.
We recall that “We continue the change“ set a red line in the first hours after the elections – the declaration of a cordon sanitaire for the political isolation of Delyan Peevski and his formation.
“We cannot give up on the measures that are in this declaration. This is a political position with a set of certain measures that we believe must be implemented in order to restore the normal political process. We will insist that the measures be included in a coalition agreement and guaranteed with concrete political actions“, commented Yordanova.
“The PP colleagues have stated their readiness that the moment they receive support for these measures, they will come to the negotiating table, so there is a difference in approaches, but the goal is the same“, Yordanova further specified.
She stated that she hopes that GERB's proposal for Boyko Borisov to be prime minister at all costs will be a negotiating position.
“We from the PP-DB, as well as our colleagues from ITN and BSP - whom Borisov indicated as potential partners, have stated that there cannot be a strongly party-polarizing figure for prime minister. We need a person who does not divide society“, she added.
But she announced that it was still too early to name names, as first “we need to agree on the goals and policies that this government would implement, and then together we need to elect this prime minister“.
Over the past week, the prosecutor's office has become more active in the direction of “We continue the change“ – who are convinced of political motivation in the actions of Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov towards Kiril Petkov, Lachezar Stavrev and Lena Borislavova – for whom they are preparing to request immunity.
“And other cases in which parliamentary immunity is requested, and in each of these cases the prosecutor's office is more of a political player, unfortunately. "The Prosecutor General is entering the political scene in an illegitimate way and this is not the first time," she explained.
