Over the last 4-5 years, the state has heavily entered the economy, which is why we see this dependence and great commitment to who will govern. When this is combined with our demographic situation, then the model becomes very enchanted and it is difficult to get out of it back to private initiative. This is what financial analyst Preslav Raykov told NOVA NEWS.
„The biggest problem with Budget 2025 is that it continues all the crazy annual plan-accounts over the last 4 years. They were totally unimaginative, without achieving anything with the large indebtedness and the registered deficits”, said Raykov. And he stressed that a working cabinet should not talk about a budget in deficit. He stressed that the annual plan-account should be balanced and in surplus. „The most worrying thing is that expenses are increasing disproportionately to revenues. And the revenues themselves are based on an optimistic macro framework,” the financial analyst believes.
He stressed that no work is being done on important infrastructure projects. “We have done nothing to improve the standard of living in the next 10 years”, the expert pointed out. In his words, the budget includes “current expenses and covering current needs, which are forgotten after three months”. Raykov said that the country has been running deficits in order to generate current spending.
Raykov commented on the ideas for an excess profit tax for banks and a subsoil wealth tax for mining companies. “The philosophy is to look for the fastest and easiest way to get money. To hit the biggest and most profitable ones”, the expert said.
