The Legal Committee in the parliament will consider the amendments to the Judiciary Act on second reading, BNT reported.
The deputies adopted all three bills on amendments to the Judiciary Act on first reading, related to the election of a new Prosecutor General.
The proposals include the termination of the initiated procedures for the election of a Prosecutor General and President of the Supreme Administrative Court. A number of restrictions are also introduced in relation to those performing the functions of Prosecutor General, President of the Supreme Court of Cassation and President of the Supreme Administrative Court.
The "Vazrazhdane" bill states that a Plenum of the SJC with an expired mandate cannot conduct a procedure for the election of a Prosecutor General and President of the SAC and SCC. If the deputies manage to consider the proposals and prepare the committee's report, the changes to the law could enter the plenary hall tomorrow, a day before the procedure for selecting a new prosecutor general.
