Glavchev: A regular cabinet that has parliamentary support would put an end to the political crisis

According to the caretaker prime minister, with the formation of a majority for the government, the parliament will also function as a legislative body. For two and a half months now, not a single bill has been adopted on a second vote, we expect this to happen today. Glavchev: A regular cabinet that has parliamentary support would put an end to the political crisis - 1

There is nothing better than the creation of a regular government that would enjoy parliamentary support and put an end to the political crisis. This was said by caretaker prime minister Dimitar Glavchev at the beginning of today's weekly government meeting, BTA reports.

Today we hope that a first step will be taken, which will be finalized with a vote in the plenary hall of the National Assembly, said Glavchev about the upcoming handing over of the first exploratory mandate by the president.

Governments must enjoy political support, and those who support them must bear their responsibilities and take on the tasks set for them by Bulgarian citizens, Glavchev added.

According to the caretaker prime minister, with the formation of a majority for the government, the parliament will also function as a legislative body. For two and a half months now, not a single bill has been adopted on a second vote, we expect this to happen today. By achieving a majority, there will also be a majority for bills, the caretaker prime minister noted.

Dimitar Glavchev also pointed out that the caretaker government he led has fulfilled its tasks. “We have an assessment from independent observers of how we organized the elections. I expect the Constitutional Court to rule soon. I do not expect any problems in the work of the caretaker government, as far as the executive branch's obligations to organize the elections are concerned. We said that Bulgaria's international path has been established and we have followed it. The greatest proof of this is our full membership in Schengen, taking into account the merits of all those who have worked in this area. As of January 1, 2025, this full membership is a fact and it happened during a caretaker government," Glavchev noted. He added that the benefits for our country from membership are numerous.
