A truck tractor with Turkish registration completely burned down in a fire at the "Kapitan Andreevo" Border Checkpoint, and the driver was injured in the flames. A signal about the incident was received at 0:15 am today, the Regional Service for Fire Safety and Population Protection (RSPBZN) in Svilengrad told BTA.
The truck was leaving the country and while waiting for the second barrier at the checkpoint, flames started coming out of its cabin. Initially, the driver of the vehicle started extinguishing the fire, and officers of the "Border Police" also got involved. until the arrival of two fire trucks from Svilengrad.
Due to the cluster of heavy vehicles, there was a danger to another truck nearby. The probable cause is a malfunction in the oil heater in the driver's cabin. The driver has burns on his hands and face. His wounds were treated at the "Emergency Room" in Svilengrad.
We recall that an identical case of fire at the checkpoint with Turkey occurred on December 13 last year, when a truck with lemons burned down. Then the cause was the same - a diesel heater in the cabin.
