Bulgaria is prepared to enter the eurozone. This was told to journalists on the sidelines of the parliament by the co-chairman of "Continuing the Change" and former finance minister Assen Vassilev, quoted by novini.bg.
According to him, it is good for us to enter the eurozone, and later a regular cabinet would deal better with speculation.
The annual inflation for the last 12 months is 2.6% – we cover the inflation criterion. This was also the last criterion that we did not cover, commented Vassilev.
The cabinet has two weeks to request a convergence report from the European Commission – with it and a subsequent decision of the council, the date for Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone is determined, he explained.
According to Vassilev, the most optimistic date for this is January 1, 2026.
