Participating in the government was a difficult decision, which we made with the clear awareness that we would be subjected to attacks. We do not have a political coalition agreement. This is the first government since 1990 that has a tolerance of minus 2 weeks.
This is what the leader of ABV and MP from "BSP - United Left" Rumen Petkov said to NOVA.
"The situation in the country required a responsible decision to be made, which is undoubtedly difficult. We from "BSP-United Left" knew that we would be subjected to attacks, some of them impure. They criticize us, but no one dares to say what they are offering the country, nor that they want elections. The situation with the budget is dramatic, and in the energy sector it is catastrophic. We have a clearly outlined coalition opposition, as well as one between Petkov and Peevski. When you deceived the government and the state that you will build an electric car plant, and you continue to appear before the people and receive their trust, this is a heavy assessment for society", he said.
The inclusion of the BSP in the ruling coalition with the GERB-SDF mandate caused a breakup in the left-wing alliance. Tatyana Doncheva's "Movement 21" and "Bulgarian Spring" announced that they were leaving.
"Freelance fraudsters talked about how the negotiations were going, gave assessments, but had no idea how things were developing. I don't think the left-wing coalition is falling apart," Petkov commented on the situation.
"Bulgaria needs a solid left-wing formation, we made a difficult but solid start with the structuring of "BSP-United Left". The election of Assoc. Prof. Kiselova as Speaker of the National Assembly is our great success - this is how we created an atmosphere of dialogue and tolerance. We also stopped the agreement with Ukraine," the MP summarized.
