Elisaveta Belobradova: Personnel who were loyal to the government are returning - 1

The government's appointments do not meet the condition for meritocracy. Personnel who were loyal to the government are returning. This was stated by the MP from the PP-DB PG Elisaveta Belobradova in an interview with NOVA NEWS.

Regarding the specific appointment of Lyudmila Petkova to head the State Financial Inspection Agency (SFI), Belobradova expressed the opinion that while she was the acting Minister of Finance, Petkova did nothing to reassure citizens about the state of the budget.

She and Temenuzhka Petkova brought the public to a state of panic, they invented some 18 billion leva deficit. I would like to ask on what professional basis this appointment is made. In any case, the current government is responsible for this and any other appointment, explained Belobradova.

Regarding the 2025 budget, Belobradova said that the PP-DB is ready to support the "reform decisions" in the state's budget plan on second reading, but specified that she cannot say anything for sure before they have become familiar with the specific numbers in the draft budget.

First, we need to see the budget. Expressing support for something that does not yet exist is, at the very least, frivolous, noted Belobradova and reminded that responsibility for the budget once again lies with the ruling party.

On the topic of high prices in food chains, she emphasized that the problem is not with the legislation, but with the regulators.

“All these countries that boycott supermarkets have a regulatory problem, as is the case with us. That is why it is important that these people who will head the regulators are those with integrity, that they are not held by the SRC and that they are not direct appointees of Peevski. We need those who can work and solve real problems“, she added, specifying that when the executive branch and regulators do not do their job, the parliament becomes an institution for restrictions and prohibitions.

Regarding the bill to ban vaping adopted today in the economic committee, Elisaveta Belobradova explained that this law will not solve the problem if it is not implemented, and according to her, this depends on the executive branch and the institutions.

“We actually banned the sale of nitrous oxide, but...“, she pointed out.
