The current mayor Georgi Kuzmov from the PP-DB coalition categorically wins the partial mayoral elections in the Sofia district of "Oborishte" with almost 70% of the votes, reported "Sega", quoted by news.bg.
Kuzmov received the first congratulations on his electoral success from Boris Bonev from "Spasi Sofia".
The vote marked a low turnout. Only 5,000 voters voted, or 18.86 percent.
Until the partial vote in the Sofia district of "Oborishte" came to this conclusion after the Supreme Administrative Court on February 17 finally terminated the mandate of the previous mayor Kuzmov due to established incompatibility related to participation in two companies.
The elections in "Oborishte" were held with the participation of seven candidates, including the removed mayor. 27,792 voters had the right to vote, who could vote in 54 polling stations located in 8 schools. Only one of the polling stations did not have the option of machine voting.
There were seven candidates for mayor of the "Oborishte" district. Among them was Petar Ananiev from "Vazrazhdane", whose immunity was requested by Prosecutor General Sarafov after his party's excesses in front of the House of Europe. The remaining contenders for the district mayor's seat were Svetoslav Zhivkov from "Blue Bulgaria", Valentin Simov from the Green Party, Aleksandar Penovski from the Bulgarian Social Democratic Party and two independents - Stefan Dimitrov and Kiril Neshev.
GERB did not nominate its candidate, but the party supported Stefan Dimitrov.
A partial mayoral vote is also scheduled for June 15 in the capital's "Slatina" district.
All polling stations in the "Oborishte" district and the village of Dobroslavtsi have closed and the results are awaited
Partial local elections for mayors were also held in four other places in the country - Dobroslavtsi, in Sofia-city district, Dve Mogili municipality in Ruse district, Varbak municipality in Shumen district and Strandzhevo municipality in Kardzhali district.
