Tomislav Donchev: Payments under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan have accelerated from 9 to 12% - 1

There is a visible acceleration of payments (under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan/NRRP - editor's note) from 9 percent at the beginning of the government's work to 12 percent at the moment. This was announced by Tomislav Donchev, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth, during today's blitz control in the National Assembly, in response to a question from the MP from "GERB-SDF" Alexander Ivanov about the stage of implementation of the plan on the funds absorbed and the progress in implementing the reforms necessary for the second and third payments.

According to Donchev, the main issues surrounding the National Recovery and Resilience Plan are related to the negotiations with the European Commission, the "unclogging" of the reforms and the possibility for Bulgaria to receive the second, third, as well as subsequent payments.

"A week ago, an organization was created to work on the specific texts of the documents. These are all laws related to the part "Anti-corruption and judicial reform" as well as all documents in the part "Energy", Donchev pointed out. "My information is that we have, especially with regard to "Anti-corruption and judicial reform", a high degree of agreement," he added.

The Deputy Prime Minister suggested to the deputies, in order not to waste time and when there is agreement on the texts of the laws, that they should not be submitted by the Council of Ministers to the National Assembly, but with the help of MPs to be presented to the parliamentary committees and viewed in the hall as soon as possible.

Tomislav Donchev expressed optimism that the process could begin as early as March.

"This will allow us to request an updated request for a second payment and receive a larger or smaller part of the funds. This depends on the reforms we have implemented," emphasized Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev.
