„What is happening calls into question the functioning of the democratic foundations of the state. We are quite disappointed with the institutions and the elections that are being held. What has been happening in recent days is an addition to this disappointment“, commented on „This Morning“ on bTV Prof. Ekaterina Mihaylova, a lecturer in constitutional law.
„We are going to the bottom – what the prosecutor's office did to the Constitutional Court (CS) is absolutely unacceptable. Not that there is no reason to criticize the Constitutional Court itself“, she also said, adding that everything is shrouded in fog and no one understands what is happening.
„The prosecutor's office's letter leaves you breathless. How can she ask a question about who the constitutional judges are who are dealing with this case and who the experts are? First of all, this is public information and it is a matter of very little effort to understand it“, commented Ekaterina Mihaylova.
According to her, the big question is why the prosecutor's office wants such information.
“It could be related to a lack of knowledge and intelligence. The other thing is malicious intent“, she admitted.
It is unacceptable to investigate constitutional judges, Ekaterina Mihaylova was categorical.
Regarding the behavior of the Constitutional Court, she asked why they had not provided information before.
“This case is immersed in such fog and darkness that you start to wonder what is going on. Some letters back and forth. Things could have happened a little more publicly“, is Mihaylova's opinion.
According to her, there is no danger to the stability of the government regardless of the result that we will receive as a decision of the Constitutional Court.
“Even if the majority decreases, it will remain. In addition, the government has started to receive support from outside. We saw for the budget that “DPS-Novo“ started to support it, and this means part of the government“, commented Ekaterina Mihaylova.
