Tsitelkov: It is harmful to talk about a conspiracy - 1

There are no 16 illegal parliamentary mandates, there is a shift. 10 MPs are dropping out and being replaced by 10 from the "Velichye" party. It is harmful to talk about a conspiracy. It is harmful to talk about a conspiracy. The Constitutional Court (CS) has described each case extremely correctly.

This was commented on by Stoil Tsitelkov from the Fair Elections Association (OCI), a member of the CEC public council, to BNR-Radio Sofia.

"There is nothing new for us and for the citizens. We witnessed legal illiteracy on the part of the MPs. On the parliamentary rostrum we saw an unacceptable exchange of offensive opinions. It was as if a discussion was taking place in a Viber group. The reason was the election results, but the discussion went well beyond this topic," Tsitselkov added.

According to him, now many institutions and people are saying what needs to be done. It is useful that they have indicated detailed data with names, including those of parties that have benefited. No matter how comprehensive the inspection is, the judges have done a good job. There are assumptions, but there is no evidence of other abuses.

"When the thermometer breaks, the problem is the mercury on the carpet, not how many degrees it is," Tsitselkov figuratively expressed himself.

He drew attention to the fact that the changes made to the Electoral Code predate the Constitutional Court's decision. Perhaps in the future, part of the control over the electoral process should be delegated to technocratic and expert organizations.

Civil and protest activity is a normal reaction.

"I do not expect "Velichy" to be a healthy and influential opposition. But now at least 100 thousand Bulgarians who voted for this party will receive their representation," Stoil Tsitselkov also commented.
