All the problems accumulated over the years are being eliminated in Europe, in Belgrade it is the result of accumulations with a genesis far back in time. I don't think that the relationship with Russia drove people out. But as a result of it and the economic accumulations, we see these big protests“, Dimo Gyaurov, former director of the National Intelligence Service, told bTV.
According to him, something like this could happen in the RSM, but there would need to be very serious reasons, one of which is that Macedonians do not see their European perspective and this could be a reason.
Gyaurov also explained that Viktor Orban's political future is also short-term and could soon end.
“When I was ambassador to Hungary, I saw a completely different Orban, democratic and determined to change his country. Now he is in close contact with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic. Apparently, everything has an end sooner or later“, he commented.
Regarding the rearmament of Europe, Gyaurov reminded - this is not like a tomato stall.
„Rearmament is done with long-term contracts, with planning and large orders, it cannot happen suddenly. There is a lack of strong leadership in Europe - it seems that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is trying to fill the gap, Gyaurov said.
He also advocates the thesis that foreign soldiers such as a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine cannot go there without Russia's consent.
„Furthermore, it is important to note that the EU was created with other goals, economic integration, common development, achieving common well-being of the European people. So it seems to me that we should in no case write off NATO. Moreover, I think that the very American position towards Europe could be changed tomorrow as“, added Gyaurov.
