„I really like the fact that the city is extremely broken. It is very cinematic”. These are the words of the Bosnian director and Oscar winner Danis Tanovic, who is in the Bulgarian capital for the premiere of his film.
The vision of the city and the fire in the Sofia Municipal Council was commented on in „Crossroads” by the municipal councilor and deputy chairman of the VMRO Carlos Contrera. „Every other day I send signals to the mayor of Sofia about the infrastructure. The capital has deficits in this regard”, he emphasized.
On the streets of the „extremely broken” city will most likely see a new 215-meter skyscraper, not far from a shopping center. The deputy chairman of VMRO said that the big question is where in Sofia high-rise construction should be developed. “There are two trends in the views of architects. One is that the city should expand towards its borders, which means huge investments. The other - that it should be densified and rely on high-rise construction”, explained the municipal councilor.
