I am categorically not tied to certain parties and individuals. I do not know why it is constantly claimed that every post is related to political affiliation. I thank those who elected me, they established statehood and emphasized the rule of law. Those who did not do so will have a corrective in the future when they decide to comment. This was said for “Live Day“ on NOVA NEWS by the newly elected constitutional judge from the parliamentary quota, Orlin Kolev.
According to him, Yonko Grozev, who was his competitor, is an established lawyer with exceptional professional qualities. “If I were in his place, I would perhaps refrain from being the defender of OMO “Ilinden“ against Bulgaria. With my election, the parliament took a step in our democratic development. I expected a different debate, in the entire context of the election of a judge in the Constitutional Court, the deputies concentrated on the negative sides. In the future, the representatives of the people should not invite candidates for a certain position if the regulations do not require them to take a position in the plenary hall. It is not particularly pleasant when you hear exaggerated and untrue things about yourself, and you cannot take a position", commented Kolev.
He announced that he would step down as a member of the Commission for Protection from Discrimination after taking the oath before the Constitutional Court - this way there will be no incompatibility. "There is no way to initiate new proceedings for counting the ballots, because the deadlines for this have expired. The Constitutional Court contributed to the consolidation of democracy and statehood with its decision", stated Kolev.
