"I think the government and the majority will hold out. Of course, with the support of DPS - New Beginning".
This was explained to the Bulgarian National Radio by Haralan Alexandrov, a social anthropologist.
There is no pressure on Delyan Peevski to come to power, said GERB leader Boyko Borisov. He expressed confidence that DPS-DPS will not withdraw its support and the government will remain stable:
"This pressure is caused by the weakness we have in parliament with these 120 deputies. But in my colleagues from the ITN, from the BSP, from the APS, Peevski's desire not to overthrow the state makes me confident that this can continue. When he supported the "Denkov" cabinet, it was good. When he supported the changes to the Constitution, it was good, and now we have to throw you into early elections if the APS starts to leave. I hope they will not do so".
"The country is at a very crucial moment and in a difficult international context. We are trying to complete the process of European integration and to guarantee the irreversibility of our belonging to European civilization.
The opposition's accusations that this majority will depend on Delyan Peevski are well-founded. It really will depend. This is a mathematical fact. The question is whether it will be such a drama.
Peevski continues to be a leading factor. At the moment, he brings a certain security and tranquility, no matter how paradoxical.
He will instrumentalize this key role of his for the benefit of his party. This does not give peace to his opponents, who are in a very weak position.
The election of a constitutional judge clearly shows that they are isolated in parliament. I'm talking about PP-DB.
The big problem is in the leadership. The quality person, the person with vision and imagination was Hristo Ivanov. He left. I hope he thinks twice and returns.
The guarantor of the irreversibility of European integration is not them, as they would like very much, but Borisov and Peevski, BSP and ITN. This majority seems very monolithic. It has clearly taken this course. There is agreement on key issues. Things are starting to normalize despite the complex international situation.
Haralan Alexandrov commented on the words of the co-chairman of "We continue the change" Asen Vassilev, according to whom "this government will most likely go the same way that "Borisov 3" went.
"I don't see how it will be overthrown from the outside. It can be overthrown very easily from the inside. It is enough for Borisov to get angry or to judge that the government is failing to fulfill the tasks assigned to it. He could cause such a commotion. This man has performed miracles of courage. He has endured a lot. He cares about what is happening to Bulgaria.
The other person who does what he says is the new leader of the BSP. Under the leadership of Zafirov, the BSP is behaving as a stabilizing, not a destabilizing factor.
The surprise is the extremely constructive behavior of the ITN. They have matured and are behaving very responsibly at the moment.
Peevski cannot decide whether he is an opposition or a ruler. He gains the power of being an opposition, but also the power of having the government depend on him".
Aleksandrov also analyzed what MECH leader Radostin Vassilev said.
"Our goal and our desire is for the government to fall as soon as possible, and next week we will take action for this", Vassilev announced.
"The opposition is not able to push the government. That is why it can say such things so lightly, cheerfully and irresponsibly in order to maintain electoral support.
The Bulgarian political system has proven to be quite mature and successful in taming destructive populist invasions. The most striking example is the stunning transformation of ITN. I do not exclude the possibility that "Velicie" will be tamed".
