The question is whether the higher salaries in the Ministry of Interior will lead to better results and what is happening with the reform in the sector.
"Reform is not done in one or two months. Real results come after the second or third year. Now the prosecutor's office is under attack. What is "Internal Security" doing? It shows up from time to time, but isn't it a shame that the biggest bombs that are thrown are thrown by journalists. It is clear that there is an umbrella from "Internal Security" or from some chief", said the national security expert academician Rumen Ralchev in "Denyat ON AIR". According to him, it is normal to stabilize the bodies of the Ministry of Interior through salaries.
"In the central divisions and in the big cities, the tension is greater and the work is difficult to identify. Years ago, an attestation was made on how each employee coped. The cleansing of the Ministry of Interior system must start from the top and be based not on dependencies, but on a professional principle,", added Academician Ralchev for Bulgaria ON AIR.
According to him, when selecting personnel, someone did not do their job.
"There are sectors in which personnel are recruited from outside, and the manifestation is inside. This is a big scourge. We should not elevate him as a scarecrow, but this disrupts the balance of power within the system and dissuades young workers that the only criterion by which they will be evaluated is professional performance, and not political addiction and the search for a mentor to push them forward," explained the guest.
If we want these systems to exist for what they were created for, they must be cleansed of political influence, Academician Ralchev is categorical.
"It is normal for the state to give with one hand and take with the other. Some are betting on 20 salaries to pay for their apartment. Raising salaries shows that the government's priority is to strengthen the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the army, which is positive. Let the DANS, whose salaries were raised the most, do their job," he also commented.
