Pro-Russian parties gathered to attack Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone. This was stated to the Bulgarian National Radio by Kostadin Angelov, Chairman of the Joint Management Council, on the occasion of the vote of no confidence in the government submitted by "Vazrazhdane", MECH and "Velicie".
It is for a failure in foreign policy. The three parties have collected 54 signatures.
"I have never been a supporter of using a tragedy to accumulate political dividends. I call on us to be moderate in our speech when it comes to a dead Bulgarian citizen and not to play with people's pain."
We insist on an independent investigation and evidence that will tell us what happened, Angelov commented on the tragic incident in which a Bulgarian citizen was killed in the Gaza Strip.
Kostadin Angelov also commented on the PP's position on the vote of no confidence, expressed by Kiril Petkov in the program "Nedelya 150".
Until the convergence report is released, we will not support either votes of confidence or the government, said the co-chairman of "We Continue the Change", emphasizing that the PP will not vote on Wednesday on the vote of no confidence in the "Zhelyazkov" cabinet.
"The hypocrisy of the PP-DB colleagues is great! Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone is a political decision. If you want to overthrow the government after the convergence report, then you risk the stability that Europe and the ECB are observing. We have a 3-year budget forecast that guarantees stability.
If they cause political instability in the country with a vote of no confidence, then they risk Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone. This is the political hypocrisy of the PP-DB. This cannot be the position of a pro-European party!"
Angelov also explained how the meetings of the Joint Governance Council proceed.
"Normally, in a spirit of understanding. We discuss all issues related to government decisions, as well as decisions related to appointments.
To my great regret, most of our time is spent talking about appointments and positions. This must be changed.
I believe in what the MRF-DPS have declared - that they will not be the reason for the collapse of the governing majority and the fall of the government. Let them think about this holiday and reconfirm this position on Tuesday.
What unites us is stability and the eurozone.
There are no Delyan Peevski personnel who are being proposed for appointments, as the MRF-DPS claim, Angelov explained.
"From the very beginning, we have said that we will not be a scapegoat and hostage to their conflict with the MRF-New Beginning. We will not put the stability of the government at risk.
He also analyzed what is happening around the inspection of the expansion of the gas storage facility in Chiren and the signal submitted to the European Prosecutor's Office.
"Our party has never commented on decisions of the prosecutor's office, of the court. These are independent institutions of the judiciary. We will not do it now.
But we are missing something very important - according to a recording that came out, the European Prosecutor met with Pepi Euroto. So far, we have no refutation from Mrs. Georgieva.
If Mrs. Georgieva met with Pepi Euroto, this worries us very much. If she has not met, then we will defend her honor and dignity as a European Prosecutor and her independence".
As chairman of the Health Committee in parliament, Angelov commented on the protests in psychiatric care in our country.
"The Health Committee in parliament will support every initiative of the Ministry of Health that is related to increasing the salaries of colleagues in psychiatric hospitals".
