Our goal is not to break up the coalition in Sofia, but to wake it up. We do not set ultimatums, we set five markers that would describe whether Sofia is developing correctly or not - the budget, a new structure of the Sofia City Council, a transparent and fair competition for the main competition, a revision of the GERB management and the cleaning contracts. This was stated by Boris Bonev from “Save Sofia”, part of the ruling majority in Sofia.
“We are currently enduring all the negatives from the government. They do not give us the opportunity to realize our priorities, such as the construction of parking lots. There is no money planned for them in the Sofia budget. The mayor and his team are stopping us. If the posts were important to us, we would not be in this coalition. According to the coalition agreement, “Save Sofia” was supposed to have three deputy mayors, but we only have one. I was promised to be the chairman of the SOS, but I backed out when I saw that this would not happen”, he explained.
According to him, the answers he receives depend on who entered the mayor's office last. “I accuse Vasil Terziev of a lack of determination, not of lobbying.”
”A chief architect, whose only task is to launch construction, simply will not work. For six months, it seems that this is all he has been doing. The election for chief architect should be canceled and a new competition should be held”, Bonev also said.
He does not know if anyone tells the mayor who to appoint: “I only know that one of Terziev's advisors – Adriana Popova, is a person who stabs and hangs in the Sofia Municipality. Literally - walks the corridors, dismisses, appoints. Unelected, unappointed, unknown person.”
“Anton Hekimyan may have now remembered that he has a waste plant. People are tired of this type of circus performances”, he also commented on the air of BNT.
