The Bulgarian pension model has not yet been fully implemented, because 25 years have passed since its introduction. Enough time has passed and there are many new trends that need to be taken into account. This was stated by GERB-SDF MP Denitsa Sacheva to journalists, quoted by "Focus".
She specified that every year there are more people leaving the labor market than entering. According to her, within 5-6 years, about 50,000 Bulgarians will enter the labor market, and about 100-110,000 will reach retirement age. "These are serious imbalances that we must take into account in terms of the financial sustainability of the system, given that more and more people want to receive adequate pension benefits".
Experts in the MLSP, MF, FSC and NSSI will be assigned within 6 months to develop a roadmap to be presented and adopted by the National Assembly.
It is yet to be decided how the social security contribution will increase in the medium term in the coming years. "It cannot remain at this level", she is categorical and added that decisions must be made regarding the retirement age, which for the moment has no plans to be increased. "It must be taken into account that more and more people of retirement age want to work,", Sacheva pointed out.
