"Save Sofia" has withdrawn its trust from Vasil Terziev.
"We are not afraid at all, I believe that this is the most correct decision as of today, because we have made all the necessary efforts to form this coalition. It was "Save Sofia" and Boris Bonev who made all the necessary concessions so that the pre-election coalition of "Continuing Change", "Democratic Bulgaria" and Vasil Terziev could be formed. We have given up on all the promises and claims that we could ever have. We were the loudest opposition to the government of Yordanka Fandakova and GERB. And Boris Bonev was the most natural candidate for mayor of Sofia," said the municipal councilor from "Save Sofia" Stefan Spasov in the studio of "Denyat ON AIR".
He recalled that "Save Sofia" gave up the mayoral position in the name of unification. "The capital city municipality and the governance of our capital is not a reality show format. Sofia is moving too slowly forward, or not moving at all. This is what we opposed. Back in 2024, we set several criteria with which to assess how Sofia is moving, how quickly we are progressing and whether we are keeping our election promises that we made to Sofia residents. It is precisely the failure to keep these promises, even the rejection of them, that is the reason why we have lost our trust in Vasil Terziev," Spasov added on Bulgaria ON AIR.
The guest explained that the party does not accuse Terziev of corruption.
"We accuse him of a lack of leadership. The chief architect - Panayotova, is a person who undoubtedly has many talents. How come within 6 months there was talk of a 215-meter skyscraper, how come we decided to push "Balkanton" and build 8 buildings in its place? These are projects that even our coalition partners, together with Boris Bonev, fought and opposed to not happening. The public interest is not to continue the overbuilding of Sofia. Until recently, we believed that Sofia could and should develop much faster," the municipal councilor emphasized.
He is of the opinion that the institutions in our country are "clubs" in the hands of certain people.
"I wouldn't be surprised if there were charges against us, because when you oppose a cash flow, of course the one who is affected will respond. We are not worried," he concluded.
