The situation in the affected settlements in Vratsa and Montana after the floods is normalizing and there is no danger to the population, the press center of the Ministry of Interior announced.

A partial state of emergency has been introduced in Montana since last night. Currently, 5 fire trucks, 7 motor pumps and 14 employees of the Regional Directorate "Fire Safety and Population Protection" - Montana are draining yards, basements and ground floors of houses in the villages of Lehchevo and Kobylyak, Boychinovtsi municipality.

26 houses in Kobylyak and Lehchevo have been drained, where two women, Vulchedram and the village of Mokresh, were evacuated last night. There are no reports of injured or distressed people, and there is electricity and water everywhere, and the roads are passable.

The Director of the ODMVR-Montana, Senior Commissioner Plamen Tomov, stated that an organization has been created for police presence, including during the dark hours of the day, in order to counteract any possible encroachment in the areas affected by the flood.

In the village of Hayredin, Vratsa region, where a state of emergency has also been introduced, 18 signals have been received for drainage of basement premises, and 12 of them have been completed so far, field work continues, the press center of the Ministry of Interior also stated, adding that the water is in the low parts of the settlement and there is nowhere for it to drain. There is a readiness to send additional teams from the RSPBZN-Kozloduy if necessary.

The press center of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy indicated that social workers from the Social Assistance Agency (ASA) are starting to tour households affected by the heavy rains and floods to describe the damage and advise people on the possibilities of receiving support. The workers are already traveling to the affected settlements.

People who meet the conditions can also seek support through the "Social Protection" fund. The affected municipalities have the opportunity to declare the need for temporary labor to clean up the damage through the Employment Agency.

The Minister of Labor and Social Policy Borislav Gutsanov is in constant contact with the ASA teams, who will assist the affected citizens in applying for one-time assistance to cover incidental needs.
