For its first hundred days, the "Zhelyazkov" cabinet managed to adopt the state budget, which in the current situation was an absolute priority. To some extent, it also managed to calm the passions that have been raging for the last five years, a calming of the political process is noticeable. The cabinet is working successfully for its main goal - our joining the eurozone. This was said on the air of "Denyat na Live" by political scientist Prof. Ognyan Minchev.
The first test before the government was the vote of no confidence, submitted by „Vazrazhdane” and supported by „Velichye” and MECH. The motive was the systematic failure of the cabinet in foreign policy. 54 MPs voted “for”, and 150 were ”against”. On April 17, the second vote of no confidence against the ”Zhelyazkov” cabinet was voted. The submitters were the MECH, ”Vazrazhdane” and ”Velichye” parties, and the main motive was corruption.
According to him, the government is working under strong geopolitical pressure. ”The parties that united behind the demands for a vote of no confidence are quite obviously defending Russian geopolitical interests. They are over-mobilized with the aim of thwarting our accession to the eurozone. Most likely, this pressure will increase, because this act is a successful institutional end to our membership in the EU. This, in turn, means that we have fully realized our interests and integration.
Against this background, the MRF-DPS decided to withdraw their support for the “Zhelyazkov“ cabinet. This happened after a joint meeting of the parliamentary group and the Central Operational Bureau. The motives - the institutions are being used for repression, and the judicial system was increasingly dependent. It also became clear that "Velichy" is preparing a new vote of no confidence, which they have submitted a request to submit in a few days. The main motive will be the garbage crisis.
According to him, the withdrawal of Chakarov's group from the ruling majority has made the cabinet more dependent on "DPS - New Beginning". "The existence of a minority government can use a situational majority only with Peevski's group - a fragile condition for its existence in the future. PP-DB is another option for strengthening the pro-European vision, but it will not support the cabinet due to its deep principled disagreements with GERB and the support of "DPS-New Beginning".
"Yes, Bulgaria" elected two co-chairs - Ivaylo Mirchev and Bozhidar Bozanov. This happened during the Fourth National Conference of the party. The co-chairs will have three deputies, who will be elected at the National Council of the formation.
His opinion on this decision is that it is probably well-reasoned. "Yes, Bulgaria" is a complex party, the members are mostly intellectuals with their own opinions, which are difficult to satisfy, which is probably why there are two of them. Most likely, it is being given the opportunity for greater flexibility in positions, some of which are quite categorical.
