The Plovdiv Court of Appeal appointed an additional complex forensic medical and physical expertise in the case of Anka Mihailova, accused of the death of her 2-year-old adopted daughter, reported BNT.
The experts heard today and prepared the psychiatric examination believe that Anka was aware of what was happening and does not have a mental illness. The defense will request a reduction of the 8-year sentence imposed by the District Court for causing death by negligence and a requalification of the charge.
The prosecutor's office, however, before the second instance, requested an 18-year sentence for Anka Mihailova.
The additional expertise must be ready by January 16, 2025, when the next hearing in the case is. It should be clear from it whether the mother's version is reliable, that the child fell from the bed and therefore later died.
