Ukraine Hits Russian's Bunker President Vladimir Putin in the Kursk Region with a British Storm Shadow missile, NEXTA and Defense Express reported.
It is a matter of a military site of strategic importance in the village of Marino in Russia's Kursk region, where fragments of a Storm Shadow missile were also found.
The strike reportedly took place near the historic Baryatinsky family estate, now a sanatorium at the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation. Speculation suggests that a deeply buried military command post, potentially serving as a communications hub, was the main target of the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
The strategic value, especially with the presence of North Korean forces in the region, raises the possibility that senior military personnel, possibly even North Korean generals, will be present at the site. The use of Storm Shadow missiles in this context is important. These precision-guided weapons are designed for just such purposes, including bunkers and command centers.
The operation highlights the strategic planning behind such missions, which requires not only sophisticated weaponry but also access to detailed intelligence. While the exact details of the strike remain speculative, it reflects Ukraine's growing ability to strike high-value targets deep inside Russian territory.
Ukraine fired a salvo of British Storm Shadow cruise missiles at Russia on Wednesday, Reuters reported.
The strikes were confirmed by Russian military correspondents and an official on condition of anonymity. A spokesman for the General Staff of Ukraine said that at the moment there is no such information. London also refuses to confirm.
British missile strikes on Russian territory follow US ATACMS strikes. Just days ago, US President Joe Biden authorized Kiev, after months of delay, to use US missiles to strike military targets in the Russian Federation – a precedent since the beginning of the full-scale war that Russia started.
The British publication The Telegraph reported that residents of the village of Marino in Russia's Kursk region found fragments of a “Storm Shadow” missile.
Britain has previously said that Ukraine can use cruise missiles within Ukrainian territory. Moscow said using Western weapons to strike Russian territory far from the border would be a major escalation in the conflict. Kiev has said it needs it to defend itself through rear-end strikes against Russian military bases.
