The Court of Appeals remanded Lachezar Stavrev, who was an associate of Assen Vassilev at the Ministry of Finance, in custody. This was reported by BNT.
Assen Vassilev's associate during his term at the Ministry of Finance has been detained for official misconduct and money laundering.
The accusation is based on the testimony of the former head of the "Customs" Agency; Petya Bankova, according to whom Stavrev ordered her to appoint and reassign employees, and then took bribes from them, collected from smuggling channels for cigarettes and perfumes, as well as from those for illegal entry of migrants into the country.
